Lots of Stuff! Part Jeden

Playing catch up sucks, but that's what happens when your University acts way too stupid for it's prestige and only gets one wifi router for 60 kids.
Not that I'm bitter or anything.

So what have I been up to?
Well, class for starters.
But that's not important.

I hosted a pot luck dinner last week for a bunch of my friends. It was delicious! I made cookies, one of my friends brought ice cream, and two of my friends made four pounds of modified potato salad (no mayo here). It was delicious.

Academically and Prague-ally speaking, I saw Prague Castle for the first time this trip. It's gorgeous. It's a bizarre mix of architecture, ranging from 11th Century Romanesque to 20th Century Neo-Gothic.

The best view of Prague is from one of the fortifications of the castle.

More after jump.

My class that takes me to Prague Castle is unfortunately at 5 PM, which means it's remarkably cold. The whole thing with the Castle being a series of buildings behind fortifications on a wonderfully, naturally protected hill makes for a chilly class. Tune in a few posts from now when I discuss getting stuck in the Cathedral! (With a teaser like that, how can you resist?)

There's a Romanesque church for St. George with a (relatively) newer Renaissance facade directly behind the giant Gothic Cathedral. Because you know, you can never have enough Jesus. Also, who doesn't love Saint George? He slayed a dragon!

Georgey Porgey.

After we finished the tour, my professor informed us that we'd be meeting at Prague Castle again at the same time and place the next class, and then left. Literally. He left a group of about 16 college students outside the walls of the castle. Needless to say, we were all rather perplexed, because we had no idea where we were, don't speak the language, and were rather shocked that our professor would just leave us. But then again, that is something this university would do.

Next up, Vienna!
